About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the Mechanical Maintenance operations on an assigned shift to ensure that all equipment is operating effectively and to assist department manager with personnel issues. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions. Supervises maintenance personnel on assigned shifts. Assigns duties and responsibilities to staff. Maintains electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems to ensure that they remain in working order. Responsible for maintaining physical building including structure and cosmetic. Understands and enforces all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the department. Keeps staff informed of marketing promotions and events, changes to policy, procedures and other necessary information. Informs supervisor of shift activity by maintaining operational and employee records. Makes recommendations regarding personnel issues to the department Manager. Assists department personnel with job duties and responsibilities as necessary. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Is sensitive to Native American Culture. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience, previous mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Knowledgeable in all mechanical systems including but not limited to HVAC, boiler, LP gas, pumps, electric motors and all of their related appurtenances and nomenclature.
  • Ability to troubleshoot order and install repair parts for all equipment.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts efficiently and professionally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Prolonged standing and walking is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.
  • Subject to external working conditions including extreme weather conditions.
  • High School Graduate or General Educate Degree (GED) AND a minimum level of certification in two (2) of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, boiler, wastewater treatment plant, certified pool operator or equivalent years of experience, determined by the interview panel.
  • One or more years related experience with a minimum of six months lead or supervisory experience
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
