About The Position

Suzano Packaging is expanding its operations in the U.S. and is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the paper manufacturing facility in Pine Bluff, AR. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant equipment and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance engineering, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, experience working cross-functionally with internal departments, and a solid background in preventive and predictive maintenance within industrial environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in maintenance engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS); SAP experience is a plus.
Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and root cause analysis.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues on critical equipment to minimize downtime.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
Oversee repairs and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Reliability & Optimization: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for mechanical systems.
Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance processes.
Planning & Coordination: Create and manage maintenance schedules to minimize production interruptions.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, and other internal departments to plan maintenance during scheduled outages.
Track maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
Collaboration & Communication: Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and reliability teams to align maintenance goals.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding maintenance plans, progress, and challenges.
Prepare and present reports on equipment performance, maintenance KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
