About The Position

Contractor must have Defense/Military and Aerospace background. Must be able to travel to various locations outside of required areas include surrounding states from original assignment site with occasional exceptions. Must be flexible to accommodate shifting priorities and be able to work well with supplier representatives and have good communication skills. Estimated frequency 8-32+ hours per week depending on experience and workload. Paid travel and overnight accommodations IAW government per diem when necessary. Must have fax, cell phone or pager. Computer not provided. US Citizen Candidate must have at least 5 years of quality assurance experience, which includes: Strong mechanical background with GD&T (mechanical drawing reading), Machined parts & assemblies and cables. Familiar with IS0-9001, AS9100 & AS9120. Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, geometric tolerances, schematics and processes. Ability to verify that a Supplier's ATP meets the requirements of the Northrop Grumman specifications. Evaluate and perform First Article Inspections. Experienced with manufacturing processes by SAE, ASTM or Military Standard. Computer literate in basic MS Office products. Experienced in the evaluation of corrective action for nonconforming products and the associated recommended corrective action. Working knowledge of Calibration Standards and practices Z540. Thorough experience with J-STD-001 and IPC 610 soldering. Familiar with dimensioning and tolerance per ANSI-STD Y14.5. Experience inspecting machined parts, mechanical assemblies, tooling to fully dimensioned drawings and Digitally defined drawings. Working knowledge of precision mechanical inspection tools, including Coordinate Measuring Machines. Certified/or familiar with the evaluation of special processes i.e. finishing, painting, plating, brazing.
