About The Position

As the Mechanical (HVAC) Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly. Job Summary: Our Engineering and Maintenance department does it all! From troubleshooting to preserving our rich history and being stewards of our iconic lodges, hands-on skills are needed to get the job done right. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing HVAC and direct digital control systems. The Details: Position Type: Seasonal Season Dates: April 2026 - November 2026 (Actual season dates vary depending on location) Pay:$23.70 - $24.35/hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Yellowstone National Park? Requirements

Experience completing common HVAC repairs and maintenance.
Experience in the operation and use of equipment and tools common to the HVAC trades.
Previous experience with HVAC system Direct Digital Controls; or the aptitude required to quickly gain an understanding of HVAC control systems.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in company-specific software.
General knowledge of OSHA requirements and the use of personal protective equipment.
Desire and ability to advance their HVAC knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self-study.
May require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations.
Ability to walk over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Physical stamina to perform labor of moderate intensity, sometimes in an outside environment at high altitude (6,800 feet above sea level).
Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time are required.
Must be at least 19 years old and have valid driver’s license; good driving record required.

Responsibilities

Provide the technical skills and experience required to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and direct digital control systems.
Provide assistance and oversight for the cyclic opening/closing of all facilities and the Spring/Fall startup/shut down of all mechanical systems.
Accountable for proper and accurate documentation of labor & materials for work performed in accordance with established company procedures.
Responsible for the performance of and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC equipment and systems.
