Come work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on delivering world class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE). You will be responsible for the designs solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years or more of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
  • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
  • Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings.
  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (Creo, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.
  • Experience working with teams on cross-level projects/multidisciplinary product development teams.
  • Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal customer relationships.
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
  • Candidate must have strong oral, written, and presentation communication skills, and have the ability to interact effectively and build effective relationships with customers.
  • A willingness to travel is required.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen for consideration.
  • This position requires a government security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Program management/Cost Account Management (CAM) experience.
  • Capture Management/Proposal experience.
  • Manufacturing and Assembly, Test, and Launch Ops (ATLO) experience.
  • Experience in capital management.
  • Certified LM-21 green belt.
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills and the ability to lead and drive change.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems. Experience should include a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.
  • Working Knowledge of EPDM.
  • Knowledge of LM Space command media.

  • The ideal candidate will have good communications skills (both oral and written), able to mentor and develop subordinates, and have a strong background in manufacturing and ATLO environments and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.
  • Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, domain experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.
  • Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.
  • Supports production meetings and manufacturing and test anomaly / discrepancy resolution
  • Provides weekly / monthly status and regularly present to peers / leadership.
