About The Position

RQC is currently hiring a Mechanical General Laborer to support our team at Hurlburt Field, Florida. This role involves performing a variety of physically demanding tasks on active construction sites. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools, assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and maintaining work areas, and removing debris and non-hazardous materials. The position may also require operating certain types of construction equipment as needed. All work must be completed safely, using proper tools and procedures, and aligned with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. RQC is committed to employee development and provides on-the-job training and necessary certifications based on project requirements. Work performed on military installations is paid in accordance with prevailing wage regulations. Since 1996, RQC, LLC has grown from a strong presence in Southern California's commercial and government Design-Build construction market into a nationwide contractor with projects across the country. As a full-service Design-Build firm, we manage projects from start to finish, delivering high-quality results through dedicated on-site field teams. Our primary focus is fast-paced, ground-up commercial construction for both public and private sector clients, with significant emphasis on Department of Defense projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience (or equivalent) in commercial construction or related field; experience on government, military, or large commercial projects is a plus
  • All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
  • All candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification and experience in logistics, warehouse, or residential work
  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Training or certification in: Fall protection, Scissor lift or boom lift operation, OSHA 10-hour safety training
