Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Advanced Test Reactor Complex (ATR) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Mechanical Foreman. This position is based in Idaho, with a 4X10 schedule and every Friday off. Here you will supervise with an operational focus in area of functional expertise. Provide immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and (1) year of related experience OR High School graduate with 7 years related experience.
  • ATR Complex Foreman Qualification within 12 months.
  • INL Foreman/Work Team Lead Initial Qualification Checklist within 12 months.
  • DOE “L” clearance within 1 month.
  • ES&H training and compliance with DOE O 433.1B and DOE O 462.2.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
  • In-depth knowledge of ATR mechanical systems (pumps, generators, compressors).
  • Expertise in predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and system schematics.
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and mechanical integrity inspections.
  • Knowledge of contamination control and nuclear cleanup requirements.
  • Proficient in mechanical testing tools (torque, alignment, vibration analysis).

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical crafts in nuclear and non-nuclear maintenance activities.
  • Manage the activities of represented staff in a section or department with accountability for results in terms of costs, strategies, and employees.
  • First level of management with human resource (hire/fire/pay action, etc.) responsibilities
  • Ensure work on reactor plants, experimental loops, utilities, and support facilities meets safety and quality standards.
  • Accept daily schedule, allocate resources, and mitigate hazards.
  • Hold crafts accountable; take corrective actions and stop unsafe work.
  • Conduct job site walkdowns, pre-job briefings, and post-job reviews.
  • Support ATR scheduling process and resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as document owner for mechanical maintenance procedures.
  • Identify deficiencies and participate in NMMP assessments.
  • Promote ethics, continuous improvement, and craft training (TAG member).
  • Maintain qualifications and participate in ATR Emergency Response Organization (ERO).
