Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related.
  • 2 or more years of mechanical design experience.
  • Skilled in finite element analysis (FEA), computer aided design (CAD), 3-D modeling, and simulation software; preferably Nastran, FEMAP, Simcenter, and NX CAD.
  • Good written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
  • Ability to travel occasionally with overnight stays (0-5%).

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering expertise for evaluating the structural integrity of forklift product designs during the design and development process.
  • Perform structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of product, structure, and component designs to ensure design goals are met and integrity conforms to company and industry standards.
  • Perform dynamic analysis of vehicles to support structural analysis and stability compliance.
  • Perform fatigue analysis using appropriate tools.
  • Specify testing required to support load case development and to confirm result validity.
  • Propose and evaluate alternative solutions to provide design improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
