About The Position

The Mechanical/Facilities Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness of all equipment and facilities across Taher's facilities and multiple locations. This role blends hands-on mechanical troubleshooting with facilities oversight, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance planning. The ideal candidate is a technically savvy "jack of all trades" who can support both production line uptime and general facility needs.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance, mechanical repair, or facilities management experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical systems; electrical/mechatronics exposure preferred (no certification required).
  • Experience coordinating maintenance vendors and service providers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on production floors and facility spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs on production lines, metal detectors, pallet wrappers, and other food manufacturing equipment.
  • Partner with contracted maintenance vendors; coordinate service calls, quotes, and repairs.
  • Support implementation of new equipment, upgrades, and layout changes.
  • Develop and maintain PM schedules for all production and facilities equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improved uptime and reliability.
  • Perform general building maintenance (light repairs, lighting, basic plumbing, fixture replacement, etc.).
  • Coordinate external vendors for specialized building repairs, HVAC, electrical, and other trades.
  • Ensure facility is safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.
  • Ability to travel locally between Plymouth manufacturing, the bakery, and corporate as needed.
  • Provide support to bakery operations with troubleshooting or facility needs when workload allows.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, and vendor documentation.
  • Support food safety, OSHA compliance, and plant audit readiness.
