About The Position

The Mechanical/Facilities Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness of all equipment and facilities across Taher's facilities and multiple locations. This role blends hands-on mechanical troubleshooting with facilities oversight, vendor coordination, and preventive maintenance planning. The ideal candidate is a technically savvy "jack of all trades" who can support both production line uptime and general facility needs.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on maintenance, mechanical repair, or facilities management experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical systems; electrical/mechatronics exposure preferred (no certification required).
Experience coordinating maintenance vendors and service providers.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on production floors and facility spaces.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform minor repairs on production lines, metal detectors, pallet wrappers, and other food manufacturing equipment.
Partner with contracted maintenance vendors; coordinate service calls, quotes, and repairs.
Support implementation of new equipment, upgrades, and layout changes.
Develop and maintain PM schedules for all production and facilities equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improved uptime and reliability.
Perform general building maintenance (light repairs, lighting, basic plumbing, fixture replacement, etc.).
Coordinate external vendors for specialized building repairs, HVAC, electrical, and other trades.
Ensure facility is safe, compliant, and operationally efficient.
Ability to travel locally between Plymouth manufacturing, the bakery, and corporate as needed.
Provide support to bakery operations with troubleshooting or facility needs when workload allows.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, PM records, and vendor documentation.
Support food safety, OSHA compliance, and plant audit readiness.
