Responsible for the specification, design, and procurement of critical rotating, static, and heat transfer equipment in operating heavy industry facilities. This role involves developing equipment datasheets, performing technical evaluations, supporting procurement activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and client standards. The engineer works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and maintainable equipment solutions across all project phases, from concept through construction. Candidates MUST have the following experience: · At least five (5) years of experience working on oil/gas, petrochemical, or other heavy industry project teams in a mechanical engineering role · Thorough knowledge of the phase-gated process of construction industry project execution including experience with FEL, pre-FEED and FEED phases · Successful track record in developing and assembling project mechanical equipment scopes, drawings and specifications into procurement requisitions, enabling procurement of equipment, materials or subcontract pricing · Experience in performing technical bid evaluations to compare competitive tenders (proposals) from suppliers and recommend the best technical solution provider · Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for mechanical input · Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications · Clear, effective communication skills that include presenting technical discussions to clients and project management
