About The Position

The position involves building, repairing, and preparing articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment. The individual will install test articles into test structures such as test cells, tables, or rigs, and perform tests according to established methods and procedures. The role requires a deep understanding of the test equipment and the product under test to ensure the validity of test results. Responsibilities include configuring and operating data acquisition systems, analyzing data, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The position also involves conducting performance and reliability testing on engines and components, diagnosing issues, and providing recommendations for equipment evaluation and updates. The individual will also be responsible for creating test plans, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM field.
  • Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associates Degree in a relevant field may be required.
  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
  • Department of Labor Certification or four-year experience/education requirement accomplished through either a Bachelor's degree in a related field or an Associate's degree with at least two years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data acquisition systems and analysis.
  • Familiarity with common tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, etc.
  • Ability to create and interpret test plans and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and prepare articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Install test articles into test structures (test cell, table, rig, etc.).
  • Perform tests in accordance with set test methods and established procedures.
  • Provide accurate and reliable test results.
  • Configure and operate data acquisition systems; analyze and review data.
  • Conduct performance and reliability testing on engines and components.
  • Diagnose engine and test cell problems and initiate resolutions.
  • Create sketches for machining and fabricate necessary piping, tubing, and brackets.
  • Design, document, and execute test plans; prepare test reports.
  • Train apprentices and technicians.
  • Participate in maintenance of quality procedures and improvement projects.
