We currently have an opening in our Boston, MA office for a Mechanical Engineering Specialist for our Transportation & Infrastructure division. Key responsibilities will include the planning and preparation of HVAC designs, calculations, reports, equipment selection and specification writing for building projects. Additional responsibilities will include leading projects, working with and mentoring junior staff, meeting with clients to discuss project matters and making recommendations when necessary, based on the clients’ needs. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals, transportation maintenance facilities, and commercial/retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, law enforcement, public health, and education buildings. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 plus years of relevant experience designing wide variety of facilities for commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional and governmental projects. The experience should be with all of the systems associated with Mechanical as indicated under required skills.
  • The candidate should be experienced with leading mechanical projects including working with and mentoring junior staff.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1 plus years minimum in above relevant design experience
  • Proficiency in mechanical designs with 3D Revit modeling, energy and load modeling/calculation software, report writing, application of the building and Mechanical code
  • Understanding of ASHRAE, NFPA, and building codes and standards.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office including Words and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Focused experience with federal and state agency projects, and/or local municipal projects is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
