About The Position

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems is currently looking for a talented individual to join as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op – Engine Solenoids, at our Powertrain Technical Center, Auburn Hills MI. This position would start in May 2026, and end in December 2026. A typical student in this program works 30-40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, vocational/trade school.
  • Ability to report onsite at least three days to our Auburn Hills Campus
  • Engineering Student (Mechanical preferred)
  • GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools preferred
  • Ability to report onsite

Responsibilities

  • Assists in design, development, and validation of new products
  • Works with product engineers to support prototype builds with documentation and data processing
  • Works with CAD designers or individually to develop tooling used for assembly, performance and validation testing
  • Gathers benchmarking data (performance, design, manufacturing strategy) of competitors’ products and documents with reports
  • Assists test engineers in managing test plans, setting up durability tests and writing reports
