About The Position

The Mechanical Engineering Manager will develop, mentor, and manage our Mechanical Engineering Team. The Manager will set goals and assignments while motivating and leading the staff as required to meet the objectives and deadlines of our projects as scheduled by the business. The Manager leads improving design, engineering processes and documentation to meet professional engineering standards. Designs will meet or exceed quality standards such as ISO 9001 and NRC regulations as required. The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering/related field or equivalent experience; advanced education and/or related certifications are a plus
  • Ten plus years’ experience in a technical industry, preferably leading an engineering team [SM3.1]with responsibility for meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficient leadership management skills
  • Highly skilled in verbal and written communications; effective organizational skills
  • Adaptable to change in the work environment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, principles, techniques, tools, and software
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office and SolidWorks
  • Experience with business process in an ISO 9001 or similar environment

Responsibilities

  • Hires, manages, and reviews engineers, designers, & technicians. Provides direction and motivation for these and any related teams of professional engineers and technicians.
  • Works effectively with the project managers and other functional managers to develop coherent, achievable project requirements, plans, schedules, and milestones.
  • Facilitates the accomplishment of project milestones within the Mechanical Engineering Team.
  • Collaborates with the Operations team to ensure engineering changes are managed using robust change control techniques.
  • Ensures the completion of deliverables and the adherence to timelines, making alterations when necessary to meet expectations.
  • Develop team standard operating procedures that ensure effective and professional product development.
  • Supports Business Development efforts by participating in occasional customer interface and in supplying relevant technical information to meet customer bid requirements.
  • Develops the budgets and capital expenditure needs for the department.
  • Develop and manage business relationships with contractors and suppliers to support project requirements including ensuring on time delivery to requirements
