About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance (ULA), you will gain hands-on experience in the aerospace industry, contributing to the design and analysis of flight hardware. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, participate in various engineering activities, and develop a strong professional network within the ULA community.

Requirements

  • Completed sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application.
  • Valid driver's license and motorized vehicle transportation for certain locations.
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2025.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the Summer of 2025.
  • Working knowledge of basic engineering application tools like NX, NASTRAN, SolidWorks, Mathcad, CREO, and other design and analysis tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on existing flight hardware.
  • Assist in the design and development of future hardware.
  • Conduct analysis for both completed and future launches.
  • Test and gain exposure to systems engineering, mission integration, quality assurance, system safety, launch operations, or production operations.
  • Perform data analysis and work on analysis methodology improvement projects.
  • Engage in software improvement projects, trade studies, and manufacturer studies.
  • Create or modify tool designs and process cause and corrective actions for non-conformances.
  • Maintain production work instructions and manage suppliers.
  • Participate in component or integrated systems testing.
