About The Position

Milacron is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their team in Batavia, OH. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support engineering efforts focused on developing accurate 3D models of Fanuc Roboshot injection molding machines. This internship is well-suited for early college students interested in design engineering and hands-on manufacturing applications. The intern will gain direct experience using 3D scanning equipment and CAD tools to create reusable design references that will support future machine design and engineering activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (first- or second-year students preferred)
• Basic 3D CAD design skills or coursework exposure
• Interest in manufacturing, machine design, and hands-on engineering projects
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and processes
• Ability to work collaboratively in an engineering environment

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate 3D scanning equipment to capture physical Fanuc Roboshot machines
• Create accurate 3D CAD models of Fanuc Roboshot machines in Creo based on scan data
• Develop working models for multiple Roboshot machine sizes to be stored and reused for future design work
• Work closely with engineering team members to understand design intent, modeling standards, and best practices
• Support efforts to improve design accuracy, consistency, and reliability through standardized reference models
• Learn the Creo CAD software and apply it to real engineering design work
• Become familiar with Windchill system to understand Milacron engineering practices for creating, managing, and storing CAD models and design data
