Mechanical Engineering Intern

We are looking for a College student who has the desire to work in the mechanical contracting field. The right individual will work with the project manager team and aid with engineering responsibilities which will include design and field observation activities as well as document production in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM, building information modeling). Interns will have the opportunity to witness field installations of the systems and to work alongside senior engineering staff.
Requirements
- Advanced Excel skill set utilization.
- MS Office Suite (Word and Outlook) basic knowledge required.
- Outstanding communication skills (phone, e-mail, video conference, and in person) required.
- Well-developed organizational skills.
- The physical demands of a typical warehouse and office environment, including some field travel.
Nice To Haves
- User experience in CAD (Revit) or other prominent business systems preferred.
- Prior work experience in/or utilizing CAD and MS Office preferred.
Responsibilities
- Execute on the needed logistical actions and develop the supply base to support the strategy.
- Improve logistical performance to drive accurate deliveries and shorter lead time on projects.
- Drive improvement in storage, and logistics of materials in/through the warehouse.
- Build partnerships with key providers of materials and services.
- Deliver value through lead time reduction, on-time improvement, and vendor pre-processing.
- Communicates with CAD and Project Managers on spooling status and issues.
