About The Position

Flex is a diversified manufacturing partner that helps market-leading brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. This Summer, Flex is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to be located in their Columbia, SC site. The Intern will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating, and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams. Requirements

• Rising Senior student pursuing Mechanical/Industrial Engineering major
• CAD tools (Solidworks) experience
• Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
• Highly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skills
• Available to work 40 hours/week (on-site) for a 10-12 week Summer term assignment
• Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
• Minimum GPA: 3.0

Nice To Haves

• Lean/Six Sigma helpful
• Previous internship experience a plus!

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Team with time studies, reviewing documentation, drawings and CAD
• Monitor Engineering DOE (Design Of Experiment) projects
• Collaborate with Engineering Team with writing reports and reporting findings to team
• Attend team meetings and support project work as needed
