STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join their Buildings team. This internship offers an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate-level candidates to work alongside an experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This hybrid position requires at least 3 days a week in the office. Preference will be given to those who can participate in the internship for at least 3 months and can work full-time. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an ABET-accredited University or NCEES equivalent.

  • Experience in the architecture/engineering/construction management industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in HVAC designs, calculations, and reports for various building projects.
  • Participate in equipment selection and specification writing processes.
  • Lead projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Mentor junior staff members and provide guidance as needed.
  • Meet with clients to discuss project requirements and make recommendations based on their needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, traffic, and geotechnical engineers.
  • Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Devise innovative approaches to solve engineering problems.
  • Prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
  • Monitor work to ensure compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.
