Mechanical Engineering Intern, Cooper Lighting Solutions - Summer 2026
About The Position
This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Mechanical Engineering Intern onsite in Peachtree City, GA, with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting. Coordinate with marketing and work with lead engineers to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with voice of the customer. Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third-party compliance. Meet project tooling budget and product cost requirements. Coordinate with sourcing team to identify vendors, obtain quotations, and ensure quality standards/form deliverables are met. Prototyping and building Proof-of-Concepts.
Requirements
- Currently in pursuit of a bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Demonstrates basic mechanical design approaches and capabilities, including excellent CAD skills, and promotes engineering best-practices
- Basic knowledge of various materials and their structural and thermal properties
- Excellent communication, organizational, and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups
- Able to work fulltime onsite in Peachtree City, GA (June 1 - August 21)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

- Previous engineering internship experience highly preferred
