About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Cablofil Team in Mascoutah, IL . Assists the Engineering Manager as assigned with the development, testing, design implementation and maintenance of all Cablofil products (may require limited travel to learn of product operations, conditions, and research).

Requirements

  • Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Related course work
  • Must have good mechanical skills.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently summarize information in an effective manner.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
  • Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in SolidWorks and Microsoft office suite.

Responsibilities

  • Learns and becomes proficient in the company operating processes and engineering software programs such as SolidWorks.
  • Assists with the development of engineering schedules, budgets, projects and products as assigned.
  • Assists with development and documentation of processes and techniques utilized on the production floor to ensure consistency and quality to print.
  • Documents product and packing specifications utilized by production and logistics.
  • Participate in cross-functional Kaizen improvement teams as needed.
  • Maintains Cablofil drafting standards in accordance with basic industry drafting and engineering standards.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of the parts catalog(s), website, submittals, instruction sheets and operation manual(s) for the assigned products.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.
