JOB SUMMARY Jabil is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to collaborate with customers, sales, and product planning to establish the technical direction for Jabil design teams in the Cloud and Compute markets.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Mechanical Engineering
  • Class Year(s): Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Availability: Must be available to work in Austin, TX from May 18, 2026 – Aug 7, 2026
  • Proven academic project experience
  • Capability to research and explore unfamiliar technologies and concepts with an eye towards feasibility
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with ME design tools, preferably PTC Creo and Windchill
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering design principles
  • Effective Communication
  • Self-starter – Ability to drive work
  • Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience

Responsibilities

  • Complete a primary project that includes project management and solution development.
  • Contribute to determining the technical direction for customer originated projects and Jabil's own cloud compute product offerings. This will include documenting product requirements, communicating the plan of record design and tradeoffs, and establishing the system layout and mechanical feasibility
  • Collaborate with system architects in the mechanical, electrical, thermal, firmware, and software domains
  • Train on detailed design requirements of CPUs, GPUs, Storage, Memory, FPGAs, board materials, regulators, power supplies etc.
  • Hands-on assembly and disassembly of cloud computing products
