About the job The Engineering Intern will support the ACE Heat Exchanger Design team and the Project Management Group. The role provides exposure to the mechanical design, project management, and production of air-cooled heat exchangers. This is a role based in Broken Arrow, OK.

Requirements

  • You are a rising college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, with interest in applying them to real projects.
  • Basic familiarity with CAD tools (such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD) or a willingness to learn design and drafting software.
  • Ability to read or learn to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Curiosity about system design, including piping, vessels, and equipment layouts.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and an eagerness to learn through hands-on tasks and collaboration.
  • Attention to detail when reviewing drawings, documenting updates, or organizing technical information.
  • Clear communication skills to support teamwork and coordination with engineers and project teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and with others, managing tasks in a structured, organized way.
  • Motivation to grow your engineering skills and gain exposure to real‑world design standards and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create design drawings and details for low‑complexity projects within WHE USA Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, guidelines, and market requirements related to component and product design.
  • Meet industry and quality standards through accurate, well‑executed design work.
  • Plan, execute, and follow up on drawings based on contract reviews and technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain the drawing database and associated tools, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Participate in project and continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
  • Generate detailed P&IDs based on process engineer requirements and project‑specific adaptations.
  • Perform basic system design tasks, including pipe sizing for vessels, modules, and 3D arrangements.
  • Develop and maintain standardized design solutions in collaboration with the Business Unit.
