About The Position

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 in Towson, MD. Interns will participate in regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from various business units. The role involves supporting Mechanical Engineering with key activities such as mechanical design, product development, prototyping and testing, and design for manufacturing. Interns will work on a variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2027 or 2028.
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Maintain strong academic credentials.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Ability to manage strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of hand tools and power tools using CAD software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development and improvement of products.
• Support the prototyping and testing of new product designs, analyzing performance and safety.
• Assist in optimizing product designs for efficient manufacturing processes.
