About The Position

Join Torch Technologies, a forefront innovator in advanced technology solutions, as a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. This internship is an excellent opportunity for Mechanical Engineering students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge. Interns will work under the mentorship of experienced professionals and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technological solutions supporting government and defense customers. During this internship, you will have the opportunity to: Gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering Support Internal Research and Design (IRAD) programs Conduct analysis in support of the reverse obsolescence of critical flight components Duration: 12-week summer internship (May 11, 2026 – August 7, 2026) Location: Huntsville, Alabama Schedule: Full-time During your internship, you may: Assist with technical tasks related to mechanical engineering Support the design and fabrication of automated test equipment supporting US Army rotary wing craft Perform component analysis, selection, and integration using Computer Automated Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering tools and equipment

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Prior Torch Technologies internship experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • Basic stress/strain analysis using ANSYS or the simulation suites inside SolidWorks
  • Fluid Dynamics of basic hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D Drafting
  • U.S. Citizen
  • At least 18 years old
  • Actively enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited educational institution
  • In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for the duration of the internship

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is desired
