We are seeking a highly motivated student engineer to join the mechanical engineering design team within Mission Systems Comm and Control Communication Cybersecurity Intelligence and Autonomy (C4IA) Products Engineering. This position offers the opportunity to expand the student's knowledge and skills of all phases of mechanical packaging of electronics design and development for communication and data link products used in ground, shipboard and airborne applications. This position not only supports design engineers, but also plays a key role in supporting factory, field, and customer related issues.

  • Creation and modification of mechanical design artifacts (models, drawings)
  • Support prototype build and verification and pre-qualification testing within a cross functional team
  • Design and analysis tasks include enclosure structural design with thermal, vibration, and other environmental considerations
  • Perform tolerance analysis in support of design development
  • Support circuit card layout
  • Follow all appropriate design, safety, and qualification standards in development program
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce detailed, clear and concise technical documentation
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • Mechanical Engineer Degree preferred
  • Experience with Unigraphics NX or similar CAD tools
  • Exposure to and/or working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
