The Department of Mechanical Engineering is inviting applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position for the academic year 2025-26. The selected candidate will contribute to a cutting-edge research project focused on additive manufacturing. This project involves the use of 3D printing to develop and integrate sensors and actuators into structural components, enabling smart and responsive systems and structures. The GA will also support research dissemination efforts, including presenting findings at academic conferences. Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Critical Thinking – Over the duration of the academic year, the student will progressively develop enhanced critical thinking skills. The student will work closely with the faculty member to identify and develop these necessary skills. Career and Self Development – Over the duration of the academic year, the student will develop, implement, and perform tasks of increasing complexity under the guidance of the faculty member. This will include, but is not limited to, undertaking new areas of research, planning and conducting experiments, and effectively interacting with fellow students. Communications – The GA will be expected to present the findings for their work at Celebrate Gannon in Spring 2026.
