About The Position

Responsibilities may include: Providing design support for new and existing products and machines Employing CAD including solid modeling, simple surfacing, and drafting primarily in SolidWorks Performing analytical evaluation of designs through Finite Element Modeling (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFO) in SolidWorks and/or FloTHERM Performing empirical testing via various means of data acquisition; displacement, vibration, thermal and acoustic measurements along with corresponding computer models and analysis Assembling prototypes and test equipment, including design rework Managing several tasks across different projects simultaneously Contacting vendors and procuring parts, externally as well as from in-house machine shop General background qualifications Include: Student majoring in mechanical engineering, middle/junior/senior level preferred Important courses include Mechanical Engineering Design (Machine Design), Mechanical Vibrations and Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Dynamics Previous experience with SolidWorks Desire to be challenged by complex and routine tasks, problem solving, and decision making Desire to assist in hands-on assembly and testing tasks Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team Career Benefits and Development: Exposure to and training in SolidWorks modeling and finite element packages Exposure to advanced, cutting-edge systems and technology from original concept sketches through computerized design, prototype assembly and testing, and final production and support Opportunity to be valued an engineering resource, working as an integral part of our mechanical engineering team to meet department goals in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment Introduction to a wide array of engineering disciplines from the computational to the physical Invaluable hands-on experience and opportunity to apply classroom education in a professional capacity within a real-world business setting   Analogic Corporation is 9 Northeastern Blvd Salem NH. Requirements

  • Student majoring in mechanical engineering, middle/junior/senior level preferred
  • Important courses include Mechanical Engineering Design (Machine Design), Mechanical Vibrations and Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Dynamics
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks
  • Desire to be challenged by complex and routine tasks, problem solving, and decision making
  • Desire to assist in hands-on assembly and testing tasks
  • Willingness to learn and contribute as part of a team
