About The Position

WE ARE SEEKING A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CO-OP TO JOIN OUR PRODUCT/TOOL ENGINEERING TEAM. THIS ROLE PROVIDES HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN AN ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENT, BRIDGING CLASSROOM LEARNING WITH REAL-WORLD APPLICATIONS. YOU WILL SUPPORT THE ENGINEERING TEAM ON A VARIETY OF PROJECTS, GAINING EXPOSURE TO DESIGN, TESTING, MANUFACTURING PROCESSES, AND PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Must be available for full-time onsite work during the Fall 2026 semester.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering staff in modeling components in SolidWorks and creating engineering drawings.
• Support completion of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for sustaining engineering and new product development.
• Apply classroom research and calculation methods to validate designs.
• Learn and apply testing processes and procedures to support engineering projects and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee testing in process, maintain detailed logs, and document progress with photos.
• Write thorough test requests and detailed test reports.
• Work with the recon team to diagnose returned product failures, identify root causes, and repair products when applicable.
• Research one or two manufacturing processes (e.g., investment casting, stamping, anodizing) and present findings to the engineering team.
• Provide feedback on the co-op program for continuous improvement.
