The Mechanical Engineer position involves performing a variety of engineering functions including design, analysis, and vendor management. The role focuses on mechanical design aspects such as assembly design, thermal analysis, and component selection, while also ensuring the quality and manufacturability of parts. Additionally, the engineer will mentor interns and junior engineers, contributing to their professional development.

  • Perform assembly design and plastic/metal part design.
  • Conduct tolerance studies and design for manufacturability/assembly.
  • Select and specify components for projects.
  • Perform thermal analysis and mechanical shock/vibration analysis.
  • Qualify and monitor component and custom part vendors.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Material.
  • Provide accurate labor and material estimates.
  • Review, support, approve, and recommend improvements to documentation and mechanical designs.
  • Write test plans, conduct design tests, and review results.
  • Maintain current and accurate project notebooks.
  • Mentor ME Interns, Designers, and Associate ME's.
  • B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years' experience in electromechanical packaging design, heat transfer, materials and processes, mechanics, computer-aided design, or electronic manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • 2+ years SolidWorks experience.
  • Environmental testing experience.
  • Experience with industrial plastics.
  • Thermal modelling experience.
  • Finite Element Analysis experience.
