Lynntech's Mechanical Engineering Specialists take part in all stages of technology and product development, from researching and brainstorming the very first concepts, all the way through advanced engineering and manufacturing development to build products that improve lives. In additional to strong hands-on engineering skills, this role also involves contributing to technical communication and proposal development that supports Lynntech's growing portfolio of innovative technologies.

  • Participate in concept generation and problem solving in brainstorming sessions with talented and experienced innovators.
  • Support technical writing and proposal development by clearly conveying engineering approaches, test plans, and innovative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Design and develop prototypes and test stands to support emerging technologies utilizing state-of-the-art hardware components and systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot these prototypes and monitor outcomes with a critical eye for improvement.
  • Analyze empirical data to determine trends in order to make design recommendations.
  • Formulate plans and guide the development and implementation of engineering solutions including design, procurement, testing, deployment and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to transition early-stage research concepts into engineered systems and products.
  • Master of Engineering or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines, or bachelor's degree with 2-6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Applying fundamental physics and engineering principles in a research and product development environment.
  • Broad competency in core functional areas such as fluid dynamics, heat transfer, materials, thermodynamics, machine design, controls, manufacturing, and CAD.
  • Well-rounded, capable of understanding the big pictures application of the overall systems as well as the fine details.
  • Proven creative and hands-on skills in design, repair, or improvement of mechanical or manufacturing devices or systems.
  • Strong technical writing and communications skills, with experience documenting results, supporting proposals, and contributing to technical discussions.
  • Strong self-starter who can work autonomously to contribute to a team effort.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Capable of prioritizing and balancing competing project demands and conflicting project requirements.
  • Experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and drafting using CAD parametric modeling software (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Experience in finite element analysis to support engineering design work.
  • Experience with electrical hardware, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Prior involvement in technical or proposal writing, project planning or collaborative R&D activities.
  • Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and simulation to support design and analysis.
