Requirements

  • Registered professional mechanical engineer.
  • Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager certification highly desired.
  • Knowledge and application of US Army Corps of Engineers Sustainment Management Systems highly desired.
  • The successful candidate shall be capable of conducting inventory and condition assessments of building mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) systems and ancillary equipment and infrastructure utility distribution systems.
  • The successful candidate shall be capable of understanding heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Experience conducting energy independence and security act (EISA) of 2007 or ASHRAE Level I to III energy audits.
  • Understanding and experience providing decarbonization and electrification support and recommendations to building owners/operators.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum oversight while maintaining schedule discipline.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules.
  • Must be able to communicate proactively with project managers, team leads, and project staff within reasonable timeframes during normally established work schedules.
  • Entreprenurial spirit and mindset, self-starter, and strong work ethic and problem-solving skills highly desired.
  • AutoCAD experience desired.
  • GIS experience desired.
  • A valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or Science in Mechanical engineering a plus.
  • Masters in Business Administration a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility assessments of buildings, structures, and other real property assets across the building mechanical/electrical/plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Conduct inventory and condition assessments of building systems consistent with the UNIFORMAT convention per ASTM Standard's E1557 and E2018.
  • Provide subject matter expertise relevant to building electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, and other facility systems, as well as MEP related linear utility systems.
  • Support or conduct project management efforts, engaging clients, preparing deliverables, reports, conducting data analysis, implementing engineering judgement, researching products, materials, methods, best practices, and other forms of research to recommend professional opinion and develop factual basis for project materials.
  • Work with a project team to support a variety of commercial, education, municipal, state, and federal projects.
  • Aiding with project pursuits including the preparation of proposals and the development of project scopes, cost estimates, client positioning, and client development.
  • Field work on-site in both CONUS and OCONUS on trips lasting 1-3 weeks.
  • Strict adherence to the Tetra Tech policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
