About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer, a typical day might include the following: Generating mechanical specifications for a new product or a change to an existing product. Designing robust components, housings, and assemblies. Performing tolerance studies, computer simulations, or other technical activities required to ensure product quality. Conducting design reviews to demonstrate product robustness and manufacturability. Writing test plans, executing design tests, and reviewing test results. Preparing and maintaining project notebooks and related documentation. Generating and maintaining accurate bills of material. Estimating labor and material for new projects. Qualifying custom part vendors. Coordinating engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing colleagues. Mentoring and directing the efforts of interns, designers, and technicians.

Requirements

  • B.S. and/or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in at least two of the following areas: electromechanical packaging design, computer-aided design, materials and processes, mechanics.
  • Detail-oriented and skilled at solving challenging problems.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years SolidWorks experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: industrial plastics, spring design, sealing design, environmental testing, finite element analysis.
  • Experience effectively managing projects.
