About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of new products, standard options, and the maintenance of standard designs and record books. This role involves collaboration with 2D and 3D CAD designers to create design layouts and associated assembly and fabrication drawings, as well as bills of material. The engineer will work on system design associated with gas turbine packages and related codes and standards. Additionally, the position includes the development and integration of mechanical auxiliary systems required for both 50Hz and 60Hz packages, which encompass start systems, ventilation systems, lubrication oil systems, fuel systems, and water wash systems. The engineer will also be responsible for the development of the Project & Program Bills of Material in Oracle, supporting production, sourcing, field engineering, design reviews, tollgate processes, supplier meetings, sales tools, and cost and reliability initiatives. Furthermore, the role requires the development and review of engineering calculations in support of active projects.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of total experience.
  • Experience in Plant accessories / Balance of Plant engineering for Combined Cycle or Single cycle power plants.
  • Knowledge of Gas Turbines / Steam Turbines / Generators accessories.
  • Knowledge of accessories systems such as fuel systems, water wash systems, lubrication systems, etc.
  • Experience in reading and developing schematics (P&IDs), skids, piping/tubing, general arrangements, structural drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience in pumps, control valves, water chemistry, sampling & dosing, generator accessories.
  • Experience in piping design, pipe selection, pipe sizing, pressure drop calculations (ANSI/ASME/ISO).
  • Experience in working with fabrication of sheet metal components and knowledge of welding standards like AWS.
  • Good knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing/assembly requirements.
  • Experience in driving design reviews for new product development with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Management process (ECR/ECO) for releasing drawings/BOM.
  • Knowledge of Product Life Cycle Management using applications such as Teamcenter/ENOVIA.
