The Mechanical Engineer will conduct mechanical engineering projects involved in the design, development, and launch of new automotive interior and sub systems parts from concept to product commercialization. The role includes reviewing manufacturing feasibility using AutoCAD and mold flow software, and providing design feedback to customers. The engineer will analyze customer automotive part products and interfaces to determine mechanical engineering/design requirements for door panels, interior garnish, grab/safety handles, and consoles, ensuring they meet or exceed internal and customer performance requirements. Additionally, the engineer will manage process flowcharts and provide visual aids to all stations on the automotive parts assembly line. Responsibilities also include analyzing and interpreting measurement data, verifying automotive interior products with customer CAD data, and developing Gantt charts and timelines using Smartsheets. The position requires performing process verification audits internally and at supplier sites, scheduling layered audits in the plant, and following up on any non-conformance findings.
