As a Mechanical Engineer at BPMI, you will be responsible for project engineering duties that require a deep technical understanding of nuclear plant components and related servicing equipment, as well as simulation-based Navy training equipment. Your role will involve overseeing various engineering responsibilities, including the review and approval of designs from suppliers and BPMI/Naval Nuclear Laboratory, preparation of specifications, budgets, and cost estimates, and conducting technical negotiations during the purchase order placement process. You will also establish component testing requirements and follow up on supplier efforts throughout the manufacturing, testing, and delivery phases of components. In addition to these responsibilities, you will evaluate fleet data and resolve operational equipment field issues, which includes developing technical manuals. This position requires extensive communication with customers, suppliers, and shipyard personnel to ensure that all engineering tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
