Job Summary: Arconic Tennessee Operations is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer. The ME will provide engineering support to maintenance, safety, quality, and operations. This includes restoring product flow, providing technical solutions to recurring problems, analyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities for improvement, and develop solutions and system improvements to address those opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing, fabricating and installing mechanical equipment
  • Experience in justifying, managing and installation of projects
  • Experience in SolidWorks or similar CAD software greater than 1 year
  • Proficient problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Strong maintenance background
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and experience to work with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, JIT, SPC, TQM, etc.
  • Working knowledge of lubrication, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations across the department including restoring flow during breakdowns and developing preventative maintenance systems (including during the off shift)
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to root cause, providing engineered solutions to these problems
  • Manage large equipment rebuilds - development, justification, management and implementation of these projects
  • Develop into the technical equipment expertise for the department and provide technical leadership
  • Support the department's Quality, Safety, and Environmental goals
