The Mechanical Engineer (P1/P2) is responsible for project quoting, specification writing, CAD design in SolidWorks, part assembly, testing, and documentation. Work is performed in a team environment consisting of various engineering disciplines, project managers, and technicians. This position reports to the Hardware Development Manager and is part of the Access Solutions Group (ASG) located in Indianapolis, IN and will be an on-site role. The ASG delivers over 400 projects per year in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Support project quoting by creating system layouts and providing labor/material estimates Develop design requirements based upon customer needs Design parts, create assemblies, and generate drawings with SolidWorks Procure parts by obtaining quotes from vendors and placing requisitions Assemble parts and test by writing and executing verification protocols

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks is preferred)
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience (P2 candidates)
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb

Nice To Haves

  • Developing and/or building electromechanical assemblies
  • Designing custom enclosures, tables, or other mounting hardware solutions
  • Working with collaborative robots
