This specific role is for a Mechanical Engineer in Minneapolis, MN, within the Thermo King division, which is focused on transforming transport refrigeration and HVAC with connected, digital solutions. The engineer will lead impactful design improvement projects, applying strong engineering fundamentals to deliver innovative, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions. The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, develop and validate designs, and implement improvements into production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in an Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years contributing to technical aspects of product design projects, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
  • Deliver technical designs to meet project and product requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Pro/Engineer or Creo proficiency preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windchill/Teamcenter is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Use and apply engineering knowledge in thermodynamics, statics, aerodynamics and materials in analysis and design of products and systems.
  • Use material, component, or design specifications and datasheets to create designs that meet requirements.
  • Use engineering judgement, analysis, and innovation to identify and solve problems.
  • Manages multiple project assignments and tasks and aligns priorities to business and leadership requests.
  • Apply engineering tools and processes to design, develop, test, and approve products and changes.
  • Evaluate and find solutions to operational and prototype issues in lab and field environments.
  • Use Lean thinking and fundamentals to drive systems and behaviors for continuous improvement.
  • Use feedback and guidance from subject matter experts, suppliers, and educational sources to enhance design and requirements.
  • Collaboration with product development teams and suppliers, and present materials in formal and informal environments.
  • Domestic and international travel (up to 10%) may be required.
