As our new Mechanical Project Engineer , you will u se your knowledge of project management to plan and implement key capital projects, drive technology improvements, and provide engineering solutions that deliver productivity and improve operations within the business unit. Mechanical Project Engineers effectively communicate project expectations to team members, contractors and stakeholders and build effective partnerships with plant personal through the implementation of capital projects. Heavy Industrial or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. Our ideal Mechanical Project Engineer candidate will service their main location in Coldwater, Michigan and provide Mechanical Project Engineer support to other regional locations, with travel required of up to 30% for the role. Regional support may include our Chicago Heights location as well as our Canadian facility in Mississauga, Ontario. Ability to travel internationally is a plus. This is a job advertisement.   • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related engineering field is required.
  • 2+ years of related industrial experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects.
  • This is experience beyond school related projects.
  • Strong technical and process management skills are required in this position, with ability to work multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong decision making and problem-solving skills including the ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved.
  • Six Sigma/PMP certification is a plus.
  • Preferred software: Inventor, Auto CAD
  • Knowledgeable in strutural design, federal regulations and standards. OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, etc.
  • Working knowledge of aluminum processes is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally is a plus.
  • Heavy Industrial or manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
