About The Position

Summary Responsible for configuring and designing existing and new custom solutions for 3 & and 5-axis routers. Specific Job Duties Assists and occasionally leads the definition, design, simulation, and testing of mechanical components for 3-axis and 5-axis routers Conducts research and design for mechanical and electromechanical systems and products while applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials Supports the design and engineering of custom mechanical solutions by applying customer requirements, manufacturability, cost, and company and industry standards Applies company manufacturing capabilities during the design process for fabrication, building, assembling, and installing 3 & 5-routers Ensures customer satisfaction by following design implementation to confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation match design intent and quality standards Provides engineering support to all departments Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations Provides continuous support to manufacturing activities with bills of material, mechanical drawings, assembly documentation, and guiding technicians Practices attention to detail and organization to update and sustain existing designs Supports continuous improvement efforts throughout company

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 – 5 years of mechanical design experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience with SolidWorks mechanical, including sheet metal and weldments
  • Proven experience applying GD&T
  • Ability to clearly communicate design intent and function to production personnel
  • Requirements Analysis: ability to translate customer needs to design specifications
  • Project management skills to plan, adjust, and execute effectively to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and adaptability to navigate change in scope
  • Proven machine or equipment design experience preferred
  • Concept Generation Skills
  • Quality Focus for all downstream customers (internal and external)
  • Technical writing skills
  • Experience applying problem-solving, analytical thinking and critical thinking to diagnose issues and generate solutions in a team and independently

Nice To Haves

  • SolidWorks PDM experience preferred
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Proven machine or equipment design experience preferred
