About The Position

This role involves performing mechanical analysis, CAD design, and testing of complex materials and structural components within missile system products. The candidate will utilize advanced structural and product design engineering software tools, including Siemens NX, to develop and improve upon previous successful designs. A thorough understanding of GD&T principles and their application to designs is essential.

Requirements

Proficient in mechanical design and CAD software, preferably Siemens NX and Unigraphics NX.
Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) software.
Experience in the aerospace, missile, launch vehicle, booster, or defense industry.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related experience, or a Master's degree/PhD in STEM with 4 years of related experience.
Ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in Siemens NX 1946 and Teamcenter.
Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher is preferred.
ASME Y14.5-2009 certification in GD&T.
Experience with DoD programs and related industry experience within the launch vehicle sector.

Responsibilities

Apply engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous designs.
Perform engineering design, development, analysis, and test activities for assigned projects.
Develop test programs to evaluate system elements such as materials and structural components.
Manage test activities and test article fabrication, documenting results accurately.
Communicate project status, analysis, and test results through written reports and presentations to internal and external customers.
