About The Position

We are seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer with 3D CAD skills for our Albany, GA branch location. Will function as a hands-on engineer providing manufacturing/process engineering expertise for project design, commissioning, and start-up. Requires local travel to client site (mileage to/from office is reimbursed) for meetings, field inspections, and startup. Longer trips/overnight visits are required occasionally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 3D CAD experience.
• Willingness to gain/progress to PE qualifications.
• Must be able to climb ladders, walk over crossovers, and access equipment
• Must be able to climb a caged personnel ladder
• Must be capable of walking the distance from parking lot to designated job area (1 mile+), in addition to walking throughout a large manufacturing plant during course of day for required meetings and other required duties.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle report (MVR) according to company and client policies.

Responsibilities

• Produce layouts and manufacturing drawings following acceptable Engineering and Manufacturing Standards.
• Provide technical design support for Project Leader.
• Understand project's scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints and work within them.
• Participate in internal & external design reviews including interrelationships of other disciplines.
• Follow established project controls procedures.
• Prepare formal project control forms, i.e., transmittals, drawing requests, etc.
• Communicate with the client.
• Periodically will coordinate work with other designers.
• Projects may include process, machine upgrades, piping, utilities, checking drawings, bill-of-materials, specifications, etc.
