About The Position

This role is responsible for creating, designing, researching, and improving upon mechanical automation, equipment, and production lines. This role is that of a person with limited experience in Engineering, but possess the raw skills to learn the role and grow with the position. Must be eager to learn, a self-starter and poses a willingness to be a part of a team.

Requirements

  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer experience and knowledge using SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office programs – Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Possess a general understanding of sheet metal fabrication, machining, weldments, and electrical/pneumatical controls.
  • 1 - 4 years’ relevant work experience designing industry-specific products, preferably conveyors.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Robotics experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with external references, equations and templates in Solidworks.

Responsibilities

  • Create designs per company procedures, design standards, and client specifications.
  • Develop sketches, models, and engineering evaluations of new automation.
  • Detail part and assembly drawings as needed.
  • Research to gather necessary information to help make improvements to designs.
  • Provide support during the building and installation processes to ensure the machine is built properly to design specifications.
  • Update processes and procedures for the mechanical design team as directed.
  • Create ECO packages as directed by engineering and manufacturing.
  • Create print packages to be released to the purchasing department.
  • Maintain existing models and drawings including revisions.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of all pertinent information.
  • Communicate ideas to ensure successful designs for current and future growth.
  • Research and help gather necessary information to develop or improve design.
  • Support the Forpak operations team as needed with different production tasks.
  • Reverse engineer parts and assemblies.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
