About The Position

THIS POSITION IS FOR DECEMBER 2026 GRADUATES McClure Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work alongside other talented engineers dedicated to engineering excellence on a wide range of projects involving complex buildings, data centers and campus systems. The ideal candidate will enjoy coordinating with the other disciplines and team members assigned to their projects as well as continued learning to ensure the best engineering solutions are provided. The McClure team takes pride in the depth and breadth of knowledge on its bench and believes engineering excellence is driven by the fundamentals of math and science along with the intuition about all things mechanical/electrical. Perform necessary engineering functions required for the project (field investigation, load calculations, equipment selection, system diagrams, sequence of operation and control diagrams, layouts, and specifications), while coordinating with designers, drafters, and engineers. Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems. Review drawings for proper practices, quality, and consistency with office design standards. Under the supervision of a more experienced Engineer, a Task Engineer is responsible for:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university required
  • 0-2 years of relevant mechanical engineering design with a preferred focus on HVAC, Plumbing, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities, including internships
  • Cumulative GPA 3.3 or above
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems preferred
  • Prior experience using Bluebeam helpful and industry specific software such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Solve problems of a complex nature, in both the design and construction phases of the project
  • Perform energy and load calculations, airflow and pressure drop calculations, equipment sizing, system design and layout
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Drafter/Designers on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs
  • Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Learn multiple engineering calculations to be implemented on multiple projects
  • Provide excellent communication to stakeholders and team members
  • Build relationships with industry professionals through networking and company activities
  • Other duties as assigned
