This Mechanical Engineer position involves working on various programs at different stages of the product development lifecycle. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of pivoting between tasks and contributing to the design, building, and testing of micro-turbine and turbo-generator systems.

  • Design, build, and test micro-turbine and turbo-generator systems.
  • Perform mechanical design and analysis of static and rotating hardware using metallic or composite materials.
  • Utilize Siemens Teamcenter and NX for modeling and drafting, following the latest dimensional and tolerancing standards (ASME Y14.5).
  • Set up, execute, and review advanced analyses using ANSYS, focusing on elastic or elastic-plastic behavior, blade and vane dynamics, rotor-dynamics, and thermals.
  • Iterate design concepts to drive cost reduction and enhance design value.
  • Engage in customer-funded or internal projects and assist in drafting proposals.
  • Manage component level and subsystem level hardware from digital to physical verification.
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to achieve program milestones.
  • Assist in task prioritization and resource allocation, balancing project obligations, delivery milestones, and budget requirements.
  • Provide expert advice to upper management on problem-solving and solution strategies.
  • Perform mechanical assembly of hardware.
  • Conduct test data acquisition and post-processing to validate designs.
  • Support and operate within an AS9100 quality environment following standard protocols.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience for Level 3 positions; 3+ years of experience for Level 2 positions.
  • Experience in dynamic systems, especially turbomachinery and precision assembly/dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), ANSYS, FEA, and PLM (Teamcenter).
  • Experience in static and dynamic structural analysis.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, and automotive industries.
  • Thermal analysis and assembly analysis experience.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
