We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our systems design and development team at our headquarters in Bedford, Massachusetts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Two to five years’ experience as an engineer.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and “hands-on” aptitude.
  • Experience with and effective in a team setting leading small groups.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to travel (domestic and abroad, occasional).
  • U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Perform more challenging engineering assignments that require technical competence and a working knowledge of DTI-specific approaches and standards.
  • Work with limited supervision, routinely and capably engage independent work.
  • Confidently apply broad engineering principles to perform routine design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of mechanical and electromechanical components or systems.
  • Responsible for discrete portions of system design plans and test plans; develop parts specifications under general supervision.
  • Conduct analyses or tests of increased complexity in relation to new designs, methods, materials, or processes.
  • Provide concrete recommendations as appropriate; offer feedback to managers and coworkers.
  • Regularly review drawings, etc. prepared by technical support personnel.
  • Assist other engineers with design tasks and drawings.
  • Aid in training other engineers, technicians, interns.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed.
