About The Position

The Engineer role will be critical in providing engineering support for plant operations, creating an opportunity for this position to impact and influence the future of the organization. In this role, the Engineer will plan, design, and implement systems to enhance business objectives and operational performance. This may include developing processes and procedures for maintenance, manufacturing and packaging, performing validation evaluations and executing validation protocols. Additional responsibilities include developing and coordinating data collection systems for continuous feedback to production and maintenance as well as assisting with the execution of capital and expense projects.

Requirements

  • High aptitude in mechanical systems.
  • Broad understanding and hands-on experience with the principles of mechanical systems including valves, motors, gearboxes, piping systems and components, boiler and chiller systems and operations, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as part of a cross functional team to support operation.
  • Proficient skills in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, process, and automation related issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of Construction Safety and Site Management.
  • Working knowledge of Building and Facility Operations Management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in aseptic, beverage manufacturing facility preferred but not required.
  • Experience with commissioning a manufacturing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation and commissioning and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting engineering with improvements in areas within the plant.
  • Works to identify root cause of manufacturing failures using structured problem solving. Applies root cause solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensures compliance of process parameters and operational conditions with USDA and FDA regulations.
  • Responsible for assisting with improvement initiatives that define equipment data, equipment capabilities, utilization, efficiencies, and obsolescence.
  • Plan, design, and implement projects under the supervision of engineering management.
  • With the assistance of engineering management, work to become a subject matter expert on various systems in the plant and be able to provide support for those systems.
  • Assist in the development, modification, and review of documents. This may include Preventive Maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Batch Records, Material specifications, and other forms.
  • Reviews and maintains validation and change control documents.
  • Responsible for acquiring and maintaining working knowledge of cGMPs and emerging regulatory and compliance concerns as related to aseptic manufacturing.
  • Provide support as needed to engineering, maintenance, EHS, production, and quality departments.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting during process scale-up and introduction.
  • Support process investigations and product impact assessments for change controls and internal/external investigations.
  • Assists in project development justification and engineering proposals for capital submission.
