Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing mechanical components and systems, preferably for Class I and II medical devices.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drawings, and simulations.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis techniques and material science.
  • Experience with prototyping and testing processes to validate designs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for medical imaging equipment, ensuring seamless integration with overall system architecture.
  • Develop mechanical components such as gantries, tables, collimators, and structures, adhering to performance and safety requirements.
  • Utilize SolidWorks for 3D design, drawings, and simulations.
  • Perform structural analyses (FEA) to assess the integrity and stability of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Select appropriate materials based on design requirements, considering factors such as strength, durability, and weight.
  • Build and test prototypes to validate, refine, and optimize electro-mechanical designs.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, software engineers, and other professionals to ensure effective integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and medical device regulations.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance performance, manufacturability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including designs, specifications, and testing procedures.
