About The Position

Vision Point Systems, Inc. (VPS) is currently recruiting for a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to work on corrosion engineering projects to support various Department of Defense programs with the Navy, Marines, and Army. Duties include laboratory and field test plan development and execution; executing coatings, materials, and corrosion tests; field investigations and surveys; scientific data analysis and report writing; understanding military publications; and technical writing.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, or other similar engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
1-3 years of functional engineering experience (not just design).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Eligibility for a clearance requires US Citizenship.
Demonstrated professional writing and presentations skills.
Must collaborate and work well with multi-faceted teams.
Must be solutions oriented.
Must be able to think through complex problems and execute plans.
Must be willing to work interchangeably between Fairfax, VA and Bethesda, MD, when needed.
Must being willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

Experience in or supporting the U.S. Navy and/or Marines is highly desired, but experience or knowledge with any military branch is advantageous.
Technical experience in mechanical, materials science/engineering (especially corrosion and coatings), and military/ship platforms is desired.
Experience with data analysis and statistics is a plus.
